Hebrews 8:1-6, Psalm 86:5

"We have such a High Priest who sits at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven" (Hebrews 8:1)

In Judaism, there is no position more honorable than being a priest. At the time of Jesus, the office of high priest holds great power. He is the head of the Sanhedrin, the supreme court of Israel. But the most important task for a priest was on the day of Yom Kippur - the day of redemption. That's the day where he will enter into the most sacred in the temple, the most holy space, and perform a ritual sacrifice for the redemption of the sins of Israel.

The picture is like this. As the sun began to reveal itself on the Mount of Olives, a priest standing at the pinnacle of the temple and blew trumpets. That is a sign that the victim was about to begin. Number of animals there are fifteen which would be sacrificed on the altar of the great, and in front of thousands of faithful high priest was slaughtered these animals. With the rapid blood flow and the priest pours some into a cup.

On the appointed day the high priest went into the temple, past the courtyard, the sacred space, and will enter into the Divine. Inside the room he splashed ark of the covenant. That is a sign that the sins of Israel have been covered.

Jesus as High Priest, the Great did the same thing. The difference, he is not a descendant of Aaron, and not according to the rules of Aaron, but Melchizedek. He did not walk through the courtyard and sacred space, but more than that he walked up to heaven, the residence of the Father. And He is the Son of God who blamed blameless. He does not need to hold the victim, to purify themselves before Him, because He is holy. And His sacrifice on the cross not just cover our transgressions, but also eliminate all mistakes and our sins. That means God does not remember anymore with our sins, because records just are not there, what needs to be seen?

One word that we can toss about Jesus: great! Jesus is truly the perfect job and the safety it can now be owned by those who believe in Him. Who would believe, eternal life is certain to be his, because his sins were forgiven and the offense has been forgotten! Hallelujah, all glory just for him!

Without sacrifice there is no salvation.
